Hello! Welcome to this simple, lightly curated round-up of tabs I have sitting open. This article is for all subscribers, free and paid – yay!
If you enjoy this freebie, would you consider being a paid subscriber to receive a couple of articles from me each week? Each Sunday I send Life Curriculum, a curated version of Open Tabs with suggestions for reading, watching, listening, making and doing. You can get a trial for 7 days to try before you buy.
Here’s a ridiculous thing I can’t stop looking at.
Oh Maison Balzac, you continue to delight with your whimsical, form-over-function designs! Would I actually use these ($$$)? Probably not. (Varietal-specific Riedel reigns supreme in this household – not because of me.)
Made from hand-blown borosilicate glass, the set is sure beautiful to look at. Although… probably annoying to hold?
Can you vouch for this olive oil?
This olive oil ($) has been popping up all over my feed recently and ex-chef David (he of the Riedel glasses above) is keen on the squeeze bottles. Apparently squeezable sauce/oil/condiments is something that us non-hospitality people are missing out on.
I love the sound of so many elements of this business (recycled bottles, refills, charity partnerships), but I’m keen to hear if someone can actually vouch for the quality. Let me know?
The rabbit hole of point hacking.
Last weekend we flitted down to Melbourne for about 50 hours of non-stop eating and drinking and walking – on frequent flyer points. With more travel coming up, I fell down a points hacking rabbit hole. I’m still collecting for Qantas, but do wonder whether it’s time to jump ship to Virgin.
Anyway, I thought these guides were handy if you’re also planning some travel:
In case you missed it…
Did you get the last Open Tabs? It’s here.
I started a series where I pull together a menu for an imaginary occasion (with recipes). First up: a spring picnic.
We’re ushering in a period of vitality and vibrancy with this October moodboard and links round-up.
I spent hours collating a list of what I consider my fridge essentials, from my grocery items to those I meal prep each week.
Life Curriculum continues to come out each Sunday.
